New Zealand's cathedral plans look good on paper

The idea may sound flimsy, but Anglican Church leaders in the earthquake-devastated city of Christchurch believe a new cardboard cathedral will deliver both a temporary solution and a statement about the city's recovery.

The church leaders recently announced plans to build a 25-meter high cathedral constructed with 104 tubes of cardboard. The structure will be a temporary replacement for the iconic ChristChurch Cathedral, which was ruined last year in an earthquake. The temporary cathedral would seat 700 people and be used for 10 years.  中文
